Alumni Profile

I have some very exciting news! Recently I was interviewed by Kory Glover from Algonquin College for an Alumni Video Profile for the Algonquin Times. We were even allowed to film it in the photos studio used by the Algonquin College Photography program. Check it out and learn a little more about what I've been up to since graduation in June 2017.

In Gord We Trust

On October 18, 2017, Canadians awoke to sad news. Gord Downie, lead singer of the band The Tragically Hip, passed away on October 17, surrounded by loved ones. Downie had an incurable form of brain cancer. It was expressed in an official statement on the band's website, that "Gord knew this day was coming – his response was to spend this precious time as he always had – making music, making memories and expressing deep gratitude to his family and friends for a life well lived, often sealing it with a kiss… on the lips." Downie had such an amazing love for the country he called home, and led many philanthropic endeavours in environmentalism, Indigenous affairs, and more. Since Downie's passing, many tributes have popped up around the country, including this humble monument to a humble legend.

This piano can be found in A. Y. Jackson Park in Manotick, Ontario.

The Carleton Butterflies

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of attending Carleton University's annual Butterfly Exhibit. The exhibit is put on by the Department of Biology each year in late September, early October. It is a beautiful show to attend, and it is free! I know I am definitely going back next year. For more information on the annual Carleton Butterfly Exhibit, click here.
